BSQUARE acquires TestQuest, Integrates Testing And QA With Development

Bellevue, Washington-based BSQUARE Corporation announced the acquisition of Minneapolis, Minnesota-based TestQuest. The deal is reported to have cost BSQUARE USD 2.2 million.
Founded in 1994, the company is in the domain of software solutions for smart devices such as for personal navigation, point-of-sale terminals, handheld data terminals, smart phones, pocket PCs, Web pads, set-top boxes, besides others. BSQUARE is reckoned as a leader in implementing solutions using Windows Mobile and Windows embedded operating systems. The company is Microsoft’s “Gold Level Partner”.
TestQuest is acknowledged as leader in test solutions for mobile devices and applications. The company’s products are used by device manufacturers, application developers and content providers to test the softwares created by them. The company has two flagship products: “TestQuest CountDown”, which is a testing platform for mobile device applications, and “TestQuest Pro”, which is used for embedded systems.
Through this acquisition, BSQUARE has added the important feature of software testing to its development expertise. Further, the company has also acquired the entire customer base serviced by TestQuest, such as US Postal Service, T-Mobile International, Kyocera, Telefnica Mviles and Siemens. The company has also expanded its customer base world-wide.
Another important milestone achieved by BSQUARE is that it has through this acquisition gone beyond its established Windows Mobile expertise and entered new areas such as Symbian, Linux, RIM BlackBerry, QNX, and others.
