A human interest story demonstrating the power of Microsoft’s Windows Azure and Live Services has been featured by the company on its website (Read the story here.)
“Windows Azure” is Microsoft’s operating system version of cloud computing platform that was previewed at the recently held Professional Developers Conference (PDC). Azure is the first time that Microsoft has stepped out of its comfort zone of box-specific softwares, as the new platform now allows files and folders to be accessed from the web. There are five services included in this platform: Live Services, SQL Services, .NET Services, SharePoint Services and Dynamics CRM Services.

'MeshMobile' Device In Porsche, Deploying Azure
Microsoft employee Mr. Ori Amiga carried out modifications to his Porsche car and fitted hardware that runs Windows Azure. The system now enables Mr. Amiga to connect all his devices in the cloud. Music tracks that he adds to his album while at home become available to him when he turns on the ignition of his Porsche. Since he has installed GPS in the car, his exact coordinates are known to his social network at all times. Besides obtaining weather and traffic information, Mr. Amiga can get the system to read out aloud all incoming mails while he is driving.
The company is making a determined push into the cloud computing market with its Azure operating system, and the Porsche’s “MeshMobile”, as Mr. Amiga calls it, is one of the creative ways demoed by the company where the new OS can be put to good use.
