Runescape

April 13, 2009 by Ryan

runescapeRunescape was released in 2001 and has been a force in the MMORPG market ever since. The game is intensely popular due to its easy accessibility and an endless amount of things to do. With 8.5 million active accounts at this moment, Runescape was recognized by Guinness World Records as the worlds largest free MMORPG. Chances are you have played Runescape in the past or are currently playing now. The game has advanced leaps and bounds in the past year, and if you didn’t like it before you have to give it another chance!

Runescape is similar to EverQuest and World of Warcraft in the sense that it is a swords and magic type of game. There are over 20 skills for players to have fun with. These include fishing, cooking, mining, farming, agility, and many more. My personal favorite is fishing. It’s fun and allows the player to earn money to buy things and the food can be used for training combat skills. Prayer is also a fun skill. Runescape features many prayers including Incredible Reflexes which increase the Attack skill by 15%, and Protect Items which allows the user to keep an extra item in the event of death.

Jagex, the company that runs Runescape, recently released an HD version of the game. This has helped to improve the graphics of the java based game immensely. They have also created a full screen version of the game! Runescape can be very fun and it is quite addictive. If you haven’t tried it in the past, I suggest you do so now by visiting Runescape.com; its free!
