New Version Of Middleware From Oracle

July 6, 2009 by Sanjay

Redwood Shores, California-based Oracle Corporation has released a new version of its middleware software suite, “Fusion”.

The middleware comprises a set of platforms, viz. SOA, WebLogic, WebCenter and Identity Management. SOA takes the middleware towards the latest in software and hardware architectures such as cloud computing. WebLogic is a server-centric software suite, and in this new version promises to work harder to keep the app server up most of the time. According to the company release, new tools have been added such as GridLink that works on real-time application clusters, and Enterprise Grid Messaging, that focuses on reliability and availability.

WebCenter is a set of services targeted towards web-based applications and intranet. In the latest version, WebCenter offers social networking and personal productivity tools which enable customers to create both personal and group spaces on the web. A new inbuilt tool called “Composer” makes it possible for end-users to create, share and personalize applications, portals and social sites.

The Identity Management suite in the new version has some new features that help administrators and users manage their roles and profiles across all the Oracle-supplied applications installed on their system.
