Ashes Cricket 2009

August 4, 2009 by Scott

I have to admit that I was skeptical about this game until I actually tried. I mean, how fun could cricket actually be? It turns out that it is a lot of fun! Ashes Cricket 2009 comes from Codemasters and Transmission Games. It is due for release on 8/7/09. There is no rating from the ESRB yet, but it looks like this one is suitable for any player. If you haven’t played cricket before, don’t pass this one up. You will be glad you gave it a chance!

The Ashes is a cricket series between England and Australia that dates back to 1882. It is one of the most celebrated rivalries in all of sports. The match happens every two years. Australia leads the all time series, but England is always a formidable opponent.  The series began after Australia defeated England and the press declared English cricket to be dead. On their tour to Austraila, the English vowed to “reclaim the Ashes” and the tradition started.

Ashes Cricket 2009 is the most realistic cricket game on the market, and features over twelve Test playing nations. The bowling mode is easy to use and is quite enjoyable.  There is greater coverage and shot control than ever before seen. Just like in real life, the game will feature Hawk-Eye Tracking. There are over 18 stadiums all over the world for gamers to try. The environment in the stadiums is very realistic. For serious cricket gamers, there is a full online multiplayer mode. Ashes Cricket 2009 is an excellent game, and can be enjoyed by any sports fan!
