Precision M6500 Mobile Workstation From Dell

A new mobile workstation has been launched in the market which according to its originator is the world’s “most powerful”.

The originator is Dell Inc, the Round Rock, Texas-headquartered PC manufacturer, and the workstation it has launched is christened Precision M6500. The machine is available beginning from USD 2,749.

The family of Precision M6500 comes with workstations of varying configurations, each aimed at specific user segment (home, government, small to medium to large businesses, etc). Typically, the machines are built upon Intel’s Core i7-720QM Quad Core 1.60 Ghz 6MB processor, and run on Windows 7 Professional OS. The machines have a RAM of 2.0GB, DDR3-1,066MHz SDRAM installed in 2 DIMMS and an option for additional 2 DIMM slots, a hard disk of 160 GB spinning at the rate of 5,400 rpm. The display is 17″, ranging from WXGA+ LED Display 1,440X900 resolution to WUXGA 1,9200X1,200, and supported by graphics cards from ATI Firepro (M7740) to NVIDIA (Quadro FX x800M).

The machines typically weigh from 3.86 kg onwards, and measure 15.4″ (W) X 11.0″ (D) X 1.35″ (H), and come with 9-cell extended life primary batteries.
