January 13, 2010 by Sanjay

The recently-concluded CES 2010 show in Las Vegas saw Dell announcing the release of a new set of laptops. One of them is the Alienware series of laptop meant for gamers.

Alienware comes in three different models, corresponding to their screen sizes: M11x, M15x and M17x. The M17x model has the largest screen size, with two options of 17″ WideXGA+ sporting a resolution of 1,440X900 / 900p LCD monitor and 17″ WideUXGA 1,920X1,200 / 1,200p LCD monitor. Typical of Dell, there are a number of options for the other laptop’s features as well, which ultimately decide the price that the piece can be bought. So the Video Card can be either of Single 1Gb GDDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260M, or SLI Dual 1GB GDDR3 GeForce GTX 260M / 280M. The laptop can come fitted with any of Intel’s Core 2 Duo or Quad processors (from P8600 to T9800 to Q9100). The system runs on DDR3 RAM with clock speeds selectable from 1,067 Mhz or 1,333 Mhz; and hard disk with capacity ranging from 160 GB to 500 GB spinning at 7,200 RPM.

The laptop measures 2.02 inches (H) X 15.98 inches (W) X 12.65 inches (D), and weighs from 5.3 kg onwards. The price tag begins from USD 1,699 onwards.
