January 20, 2010 by Sanjay
Islandia, New York-headquartered CA Inc has announced the acquisition of a Service Level Management (SLM) software company, Oblicore Inc.
Waltham, Massachusetts-headquartered Oblicore Inc is a leader in the SLM domain. Its flagship product, Oblicore Guarantee, helps in the automation, activation and acceleration of management, monitoring and reporting of all service level agreements and service delivery for enterprises and service providers. This solution empowers companies to define the service catalog and measurement metrics. Managers can establish contractual obligations and performance targets with greater confidence, and also track performance against these targets on real-time basis. It is this expertise that CA has acquired and added to its repertoire by buying Oblicore.
The terms of the deal have not been disclosed. Mr. Jonathan McKay was the chairman of the board of directors and Mr. Eric Converse the CEO of the company, pre-acquisition.
Oblicore is the third in line of recent acquisitions made by CA in recent time, executed quickly after acquiring NetQoS and Cassatt. The thrust of CA’s strategy is positioning itself in the IT infrastructure optimization domain.
Oblicore has been a long-time partner of CA, and therefore has been closely associated with CA’s own solutions.
