sporeBack in December we covered a game called Spore.  It is a game from EA Games and Maxis that allows players to create their own species.  The game was wildly popular, and an expansion pack has already been created.

Spore Galactic Adventure is rated E10+ for Everyone over the age of 10 because of animated blood, fantasy violence, and comic mischief. It was released on 6/25/09. Reviewers are raving over the expansion. Gamespot rated it a stellar 8.0 out of 10.

The idea of Spore is create your own species and to guide them through the struggles of evolution. Your species will start out as a mere cell and progress to an advanced civilization. Spore Galatic Adventure brings even more to the table. Gamers will be able to guide their species through the universe to conquer planets and spread their dominance.

Maxis has added plenty of new missions. Players will be able to create their own missions as well. The Adventure Creator is one of the best features in Spore Galactic Adventure. It allows gamers to get a deeper look at the game, and to personalize their experience. Best of all, you can share your adventures with the Spore community on the games official website!

Wardrobe is an important part of any game. You will be able to conquer the universe in style, with over 30 different style add ons. Spore is a wonderful game. If you haven’t played it yet, then you cant miss out on this opportunity. Pick up this award winning simulation game today!

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

t2The battle is on once again. Transformers has been around for as long as I can remember. Today’s teenagers grew up with the hit television show. The younger generation recently experienced the movie. There is truly more than meets the eyes with this franchise. Not only is the franchise formidable on the big screen, but it also makes an excellent video game. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is published by Activision Inc. and developed by Beenox Studios. It has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB for mild language, and violence. The action game is due for release on 6/23/09.

The game is based on the highly anticipated film due for release later this month. Gamers will be able to decide if they wish to be an Autobot or a Decepticon. They will have the ability to play as Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, Ironhide, and many other characters. Two distinct campaigns mean you will be able to choose between saving mankind and destroying it. The storylines for both sides will keep gamers interested and are more than stellar.

For the first time in the history of the franchise, gamers will be able to take the battle between the Autbots and the Decepticons online. The multiplayer action is truly epic. Each transformer has its own unique characteristics and abilities. You will find this out more than once when playing online.  All in all, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen does not disappoint. The storyline and multiplayer are its strong points. If you liked the movies or TV show, don’t pass up on this game!

Ghostbusters for the PC

ghostbustersMany old franchises have been revived in recent years. We have seen a new Rocky movie, Star Wars prequels, and Spider-Man movies and games. I am a fan of these oldies but goodies, and I am happy to see Ghostbusters The Video Game has finally been released. The game is published by the gaming legends at Atari, and developed by Terminal Reality. It has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB for comic mischief, fantasy violence, and mild language.

Taking out the phantom ghosts is a ton of fun. Your signature ghost buster, or gun, blasts ectoplasm at the enemy. They will try to dodge your gun and attempt to inflict damage. They will throw object and they are even able to stun the Ghost Busters. It’s quite amusing to watch the ghosts being sucked into the gun. You might have sympathy for them if they weren’t already dead! Taking the ghosts down as quickly as possible will help you to beat the game.

IGN tabbed the game at 7.8 out of 10. GameSpot was a tad lower, giving the game 7.0 out of 10. Ghostbusters The Video Game has received a great rating of 8.5 out of 10 from GameZone. They tabbed the difficult at medium and said the game play and graphics were particularly strong. I agree with them.

Ghostbusters The Video Game is not just a classic movie, but is now a great video game. This action game is not just another run of the mill movie game. It has plenty of quality and can hold its own against any game on the market today. This is a must play for action fans!

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood

Welcome to the Wild West. Gun slinging games set in the 1800s are very fun, but are also few and far between. I’m glad that I found this one! Developer Techland and Publisher Ubisoft have teamed up to bring gamers Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. It will likely be rated M for Mature by the ESRB for violence, suggestive themes, blood, and strong language. Let’s take a look.

Gamers will be transported to an ancient Aztec ruin during the time of the Civil War in the United States. Gamers will have the ability to switch between Ray and Thomas McCall. Playing as the McCall brothers, you will face greed, lust, and lawlessness. The plot is exciting and will take the average gamer places that he has never been in the past.

I love the guns in Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Players will be able to use anything revolvers to heavy machine guns and cannons. They are perfect for taking out the aggressive enemy. You will encounter an Apache Chief, Mexican bandit, and a Colonel.

All of the enemies have little to no morals and are driven by greed. Gamers can use canoes, horses, and wagons to explore the vast landscape. The online play is very cool. Players will seek to increase their bankroll by taking out their foes, and every time they get a kill their bounty goes up. The player with the largest bankroll wins!

Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood shows the true Wild West and does so in a big way. Look for it in stores on 6/30/09!
