Apple In-Ear Headphones Review

Apples In-Ear Headphones Finally came out on Dec. 2nd I was waiting for these for such a long time now and here’s my thoughts. As always you get the Wonderful apple packaging. In the box you get Headphones, Documentation , The three ear tip sizes, (Small Medium and Large). You also get replacement mesh caps incase yours get too clogged and a Carrying case. The Headphones have the Remote unfortunately I don’t have an iPod that supports these features. Remember in order to take full advantage of the headphones you need a 4th Gen nano 120GB Classic or 2nd Gen Touch. There has been some confusion as to whether the remote works on the iPhone, the answer is yes except for volume control. I will be testing the Headphones using 256Kbps AAC Files on a 2nd Gen iPod nano.
When using the Headphones for Long periods of time they remain comfortable and lightweight giving you an enjoyable experience. The Ear tips are made of a soft hollow Silicone. This moulds to your ear and gives the isolation, The isolations is good but not great. Apple included dual Drives in each earpiece which is rare in it’s price range, not only that but they enhance the sound quality. There has been some heat on how good the bass is on the headphones. While it isn’t as boomy is some people want I find it’s more than adequate. The Highs however are another story, apple really did a nice job on this, you get much more detail at lower volumes and that’s the advantage to dual drivers and the in Ear design.
Design, the Design of the Ear Phones are very similar to the Standard Apple earphones, the glossy white and white cable. Now I’m sure we have all experienced the cord or rubber strip tearing on the standard earphones. Now this is something that worries me, with the in ear. however I do feel a little bit better than the standard buds, The cable feels more rubbery and flexible to me. I think it will hold up better than the regular buds but only time will tell.
The Verdict, I’m very happy with my New Headphones, and if I were to do it again I would be buying these headphones. 8.7/10.
