Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

AerosmithGuitar Hero: Aerosmith is going to make you wish the 1970s weren’t gone. Commonly known as the “Bad Boys From Boston” Aerosmith is regarded as one of the best rock bands of all time. Developers Activision and Aspyr never seize to amaze me with their high quality games and ideas. This game takes their reputation to another level. I didn’t think it was possible, but they have outdone themselves!

For those unfamiliar with Guitar Hero, you use a special guitar as a controller to hit notes as they come by, thus playing music. It may sound easy, but it does require a bit of skill. The series has been a smash hit since its release. This version will be no different.  Several top review sites have given the game a solid overall rating of 7. The game has been rated T for Teen by the ESRB. This new game is standalone and does not require the purchase of Guitar Hero 3.

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith features over 40 playable songs, 25 of them from Aerosmith. Songs from Lenny Kravitz, Run DMC, and the Stone Temple Pilots are also included. You can play the guitar as Joe Perry, or Brad Whitford, the bass as Tom Hamilton, vocals as Steven Tyler, or the drums as Joey Kramer. You can shred online with your friends, or by your lonesome offline. The games campaign takes you through some of the bands greatest moments. I can’t wait to play this game, and I can’t think of a better band to base the game on!

The worlds most popular MMORPG, and possibly the worlds most popular game period, will  be releasing its second expansion pack on November 13, 2008. You guessed it, that game is World Of Warcraft and the expansion has been dubbed “Wrath of the Lich King”. For all you World of Warcraft addicts out there, you had better your wallet out now. This one will be a hot commodity, and you don’t want to miss out!

From Blizzard Studios, World Of Warcraft is set in the land of Azeroth. The game is a traditional swords and spells game, with Night Elves, Dwarves, Orcs and the like. Many dungeons exists for you to explore along with dragons for you to slay. Players have the option to choose many different classes. Some of the more popular classes are the Warrior, Paladin, and Mage. Warriors use brute force as their name would suggest. Paladins use a combination of strength and magic, and Mages are purely magical fighters.

“Wrath of the Lich King” will see many additions to the game. The level cap will increased ten levels to eighty. A new class, called the “Death Knight” has also been added. New hairstyle for your character have been added, along with an improved graphics engine. Siege weapons and destroyable buildings will be added to PVP (Player vs. Player), along with a new completely PVP zone.

Icecrown Citadel will be the most exciting new instance. You will fight Arthas, the Lich King. Arthas rules over the Undead Scourge. Utgarde Keep should also be interesting. The instance consists of a race of people similar to the Vikings. They are called the Vrykrul, and they are devoted to the Lich King. This game sounds so good that I might have to add myself to the list of 10.9 million people already playing World of Warcraft!
