HP Designjet 110plus Printer

As the name suggests, HP’s Designjet 110plus printer is essentially meant for people in the design profession. Any printing assignments involving intricate artwork, color, thin-lined architectural designs, or digital paintings with minute details, which any other printer will make a mess of, can be comfortably delegated to Designjet 110plus.
The printer has the capability to take on jobs of variety of sizes, from postcard to poster, because of three independent paper paths that are built into its scaffolding. Users find it very rugged and sensitive at the same time, as it can face the rough and tough of rigid print media that are 300 gsm thick, and is equally at ease with coated, glossy, bright white, proofing matte and proofing semigloss sheets.
Measuring 41 inch X 16.3 inch X 8.7 inch, the device weighs 48.5 pounds and is surprisingly light for the functions it performs. An inbuilt memory of 64 MB remembers the next set of sheets it has to print, so a high-speed computer does not really overwhelm it. The brain of the printer is the 16Mhz Impala 2 ASIC processor, which manages all the activities of the device without any sweat.

The HP Designjet 110plus printer carries a tag of USD 1,044.99.

The HP D2545 – A Spartan Printer
October 18, 2008 by Sanjay · Leave a Comment
If quality-printing of a very high-standard is not your objective, and you are happy with getting a printout that is very functional, and yet drives across your point, then look no further. The inexpensive (USD 45) HP DeskJet D2545, without any bells and whistles, is just for you.
The D2545 is truly a Spartan printer designed for Spartan needs. Not for the D2545 such fancy features like memory card support or automatic paper-type sensor or camera card slots or networking / copying / faxing buttons, or even networking capability. Further, though the company equates its printout quality to “laser-like” in its ad hype, we found the output to match DeskJet quality at best. If you are not too-discerning and / or your presentation is not too demanding, your Photoshop printout will look very pleasing indeed. And if you are not looking at the watch all the time, a single page will take around 19-22 seconds on average to print and land on the out-tray. For USD 45, as I said, it is both inexpensive and functional.
HP touts the D2545 as an environment-friendly machine on three counts: about 83% of the product is built from recycled material, its black cartridges are made with 75% plastic, and the model’s packaging is 100% recyclable. The only hiccup is the cost of the cartridge. Costing USD 30, the cartridge is two-thirds the price of the printer itself!
